Activities on offer at your campsite near to Sarlat
Activities are available throughout the season at our campsite in Dordogne giving adults and children the opportunity to enjoy their holidays at their own pace in a safe environment.
Activities in the campsite
Children’s playground
- There is a safe and shady play area for very young children with sandpit, swing, play cabin and games
- For older children, wooden towers with climbing net and slide … time for an adventure!

We lend out rackets and balls so you can try out different sports:

Le Vegas: snooker and library
In the evening, or when it is raining, you’ll find people playing snooker at Vegas. It is also the perfect place to relax and read the books on our shelves, in 4 different languages.
Activities outside the campsite
Travel in Périgord without your car
There are three footpaths close to the campsite. You can enjoy family walks or bike rides along the river, in the woods or winding through tiny villages. There is an inexhaustible choice in the Vézère Valley. Gé and Ellen are passionate about open air sports and will be more than happy to advise you and help find the activities most suited to you.
Exploring the Dordogne on foot or by bike
Why not hire a bike from the campsite and go out for a ride on one of the many local tracks and paths which vary in length and difficulty ? More information on this link here. There are also several maps and route plans available at reception.
Plans and walking guides around Montignac Lascaux are available at reception. The Les Eyzies – Le Bugue cycle path is 12km from the campsite. Note, there is no dedicated cycle path directly outside the campsite.
Swimming in the Vézère
The campsite jetty is situated in front of the riverside pitches and Bellevue cottages. Have a go at diving from it!
An easier way into the water is via the beautiful stone steps that go gradually down to the river. 5 minutes away there is a small beach with a fantastic view of the cliffs at La Roque St Christophe. You can get to the beach on foot or by mountain bike, by going along the shady banks of the river on a sandy track.
Canoeing trip on the Vézère
You can set off by canoe from the campsite.
Paddling down the Vézère is a must-do activity on holiday in the Dordogne. You get wonderful views of the top tourist sites in the Vézère Valley (caves, castles, villages…), situated at the foot of majestic chalk cliffs, between Montignac-Lascaux and les Eyzies.
You see the Valley from a totally new and peaceful perspective as you float down the shaded and calm waters of the Vézère.
Fishing along the Vézère
With its quiet and shady accessible banks, the Vézère river is a favourite spot for anglers. It is suitable for both beginners and experienced anglers looking for freshwater fish (roach and catfish are plentiful) 1st and 2nd category waters (fishing regulations).

To help you choose your programme of what to do outside the campsite, Ellen and Gé have drawn up a list of the best local experts: horse riding (pony, horses), quad bike, treetop adventures, Via Ferrata, geocaching, guided visits, local producers … Information and booking at Le Paradis reception.
